Oamaru Farmers’ Market and Oamaru’s Victorian Precinct businesses invite you to a special Twilight Christmas event on Friday 22 December from 4.30 – 7pm. The ever-popular Twilight Christmas Market is one of the highlights of the Summer Season, giving locals and visitors alike the chance to pick up unique gifts, festive home-wares and stock up on local produce and treats for the Christmas table. All while enjoying some carols and fun for the whole family! There’ll be live music from Deejay and The N.O. Highland Pipe Band, kids activities and of course Santa will be making an appearance.
This year there’ll be hand-made craft stalls joining the market, plus shops along Harbour St and the Victorian Precinct will be open late for all those last minute gifts. Orwell Street Church will be taking donations for their Community Christmas Day Dinner so it’s a great chance to give back as well. Another way of giving back is by supporting local businesses and small producers – ensuring that your festive spending is going straight back into the community and helping someone local have an easier time this Christmas.
Market Manager, David McFarlane, said that the aim was to make it a lovely, relaxing evening for the whole family, “It will be a night of festivities, food, fabulous shopping and of course really embracing the Christmas spirit of giving with a local, seasonal and community spin.”
